If you’re a MLM home business opportunity seeker the options are endless today. Especially with the explosion of the internet. Unfortunately, there are quite possibly more scams out there than legitimate businesses.

Here are a few things to consider when looking for the business for you.

Is the business reputable? With all the millions of businesses out there it can be a difficult decision on where to go. Longevity is one key to look for. Bad businesses don’t stay around for long anymore.

Also look at the reviews they have received from both customers and distributors. No company is perfect, but limited negative comments are something to consider, just as many negative and consistent comments are a red flag.

Is the product legitimate and relevant? Is it a product or service you have an interest in and can promote with enthusiasm? Does it have long-term potential? Potential customers on a large scale must feel the same as you or you may be wasting your time and money.

What kind of testimonials and reviews are they receiving? As a potential business owner, the feedback received on the services and products is everything.

In addition to testimonials posted by the company itself (which will no doubt be good) look into forums and social sites for the real and honest reviews. If it appears that the complaints are frequently related to bad service or poor quality, then those may be red flags too big to ignore.

What kind of training is offered? It can be a challenge these days, when pursuing an on-line business opportunity, to receive great training. The good companies will at least offer audio training sites, and perhaps weekly training calls. Without these, it’s going to be difficult to become an expert in the business.

For the most part, the training offered should also be free (part of your investment). Other training made available may be e-book guides, movie tutorials, and perhaps even a mentor to call.

Do they offer assistance in marketing your business?

The good companies are helping to provide marketing assistance in many ways, such as: one or more web-sites for you to drive traffic to; tips on generating leads; providing leads based on performance; banner ads; text links, or in your training, giving you tips on how best to drive traffic to your site.

Without any type of marketing support, building the business could be tough going, so consider this as an important aspect to consider when choosing a business opportunity.

As an opportunity seeker of a mlm home business, give careful thought to the above 5 points, and if you can locate a business that meets these qualifications, you just may have a winner!

Have you got the correct mindset? Is it going to help you to succeed in your MLM home business? I have just been watching a webinar replay in the back office of My Lead System Pro, where all the leaders at the level 4 have gone to Colorado for a Mastermind retreat and to have some serious fun! I definitely want to go to one of these events, after seeing Brian Fanale and Norbert Orlewicz enjoying themselves with many of the top internet marketers in the system.

One point that Norbert made really struck home with me, so I thought I would pass it on to everyone.

You see, they had all been for a ride on snowmobiles the day before. This was not a short blast, it was a all dayer; i believe he said about 40 miles. The ride was not easy, the machines are hard to control and they had quite a few problems on the way. Blood, crash and tears comes to mind! And not one of those leaders whined or complained! Each and every one of the leaders just went along with it and ended up having an exciting and amazing day.

As Norbert said, generally when you get a group of people together to do something, you inevitably get moaners and whiners. ‘Its too hard’ or ‘too cold’ or something like that. But leaders know that to get anything significant in life you must get your head down and work towards a goal. They know it will be worth it in the end, so they dont give up or moan and groan, they simply keep going. They have the correct mindset!!

And this shows up in all areas of their lives, not just in their business. Many of the skills you will acquire in a Network Marketing busines will improve all parts of your life! Thats what personal development is all about, making you an all round better person to know!

And they know that if they reach a plateau and don’t seem to be making progress, they need to dig in and work harder. Without effort, you will get nowhere. There is no shortcut, whatever anyone might say.

This system actually sorts out the leaders from the groaners pretty much straight away. Because by just getting the system set up and working, you have proved that you are not one of those who complain constantly or expect someone to do everything for them. By the time you are marketing your business and generating leads everyday, and listening to the webinars, you are already well on the road to success. Just by doing what the system tells you to do, you are well on the way to success.

The MLM Home Business Opportunity industry can be very proftiable, but is also filled with many challenges. If you can overcome these this is a great business for you.

Lack of experience and time spent in the industry. Those that have been in the industry for many years have more than likely built up a large network.

The more experience you have the more contacts you’ve made, increasing your chances for succeeding at the many opportunities that are presented along the way.

But for those that are new, be aware that it will take time to build to the levels that are no doubt being tossed around as “easy to achieve.” It won’t be easy, and it will take time and some money. Some people just don’t have a patient attitude to build that base.

Lack of group loyalty. Once you’ve put in the time and effort, it’s very possible to build a group of 1000’s of people. When you get to that point, you will be making some decent money through continued enrollments and residuals. But here is the challenge to overcome.

Your down-line hears about a new, exciting company that is getting ready to pre-launch and is offering great deals to join. If you’ve built a great rapport with your group, you may overcome many of them jumping ship, but if you haven’t, your numbers could be decimated rather quickly, as they leave for that new opportunity.

The bottom line: online MLM lacks the personal contact that the MLM businesses from 20 years ago had, exposing you to a potential mass exodus.

Cancelled enrollments/memberships. When people lose interest in the business for a variety of reasons, they are likely to drop out.

Those reasons may include: lack of funds to continue with auto-ship of products or monthly membership dues; basic lack of success; don’t have an on-going interest in the product; to name a few.

You don’t have a lot of control over those, so you must count on up to 50% of your down-line dropping out at some point.

So what’s the key to overcoming these challenges? Like any good business manager, you must make regular contact with your team, providing them with information, instruction, assistance and positive reinforcement. How much and how frequent is the key.

You must become their mentor and development a loyalty. Once you do that, they will think hard before leaving, and your chances of building and maintaining a successful mlm home business will be much better.

If you’re reading this post, I’m going to take the liberty of assuming your dead-serious about succeeding in your mlm home business. And if you’ve read my other posts or articles, you’ll notice that I typically post information on marketing, mindset, leadership, building techniques and attitude. But in this article, I’m going to give you some information that was given to me early on in my career that isn’t usually talked about, but is critically important if you want to succeed in business. It’s not the sexiest topic, which is why most uplines (not all, but most) don’t talk about it or properly coach their team members about it. No matter what company you’re in or what product you’re marketing, it’s important that you take this topic seriously.

Alright, here it is: Save, save, save your money!

I’ve been in the industry for 13 years… and I’ve seen a lot of things. I’ve seen people living some amazing lifestyles, I’ve been on some crazy vacations and I’ve seen leaders making some insane incomes. Personally, I’ve been blessed financially because of this industry and the quality of life my family lives is pretty darn stress-free. With that said, I’ve also seen some network marketing horror stories. Without going into too much details, almost 95% of these horror stories were caused by poorly managed personal finances. In a nutshell, reps didn’t save their money. In fact, they did just the opposite. They splurged and didn’t bother to manage their money well… and sure enough, it came back to haunt them. Too many times in this industry, people want to portray a certain lifestyle at the expense of their personal finances. I’ve personally seen network marketing “leaders” who drove expensive cars and wore $1,000 suits but were 1 or 2 bad months from losing all of it. Now, I’m not saying you shouldn’t have nice stuff or “sell” a certain lifestyle… I can appreciate good promoting. But, what good is it to try to sell a dream to your prospects if you’re personally living a personal nightmare at home?

I thank God everyday that I was fortunate to have mentors that always taught and trained in front of the room about this topic. I can remember my mentors telling me to save money even before I was making “BIG” money. The general rule of thumb is to save 25% of your check…. no matter what size of the check. For example, if you get a check for $100, save $25. If you build this small habit, when you make $10,000 in a month, you’ll save $2,500 of it. And if you build your business big and start making $10,000 a week, you’ll save $2,500 of it weekly. Yes, this takes discipline, but do you want to get “financially bullet-proof” or not? I remember a young guy who was able to save $1 million cash within 5 years of getting started. That’s what I mean by being “bullet-proof”. No matter what happens in your business, your company or the economy, you have the piece of mind that all your bills will be paid and you have 3 to 4 years of all your bills being paid even if you didn’t make a dime.

Early on, one of the most impactful things my mentor ever did was sit me down to teach me the importance of saving my income. He told me, “Jaime, you may not be impressed with my car or my clothes… But if you want me to impress you, check this out.” He then pulled out some of his account statements he had in his presentation binder. I was beyond blown-away and from that moment I made it a point to set aside a portion of my checks and “Pay Myself First”.

In closing, this is probably a topic you won’t hear about again. And you’ll probably forget it in the next 15 minutes. But if you’re dead serious about succeeding in business and getting wealthy, you better save your money! After all, have you ever heard of someone building true wealth (not someone who won the lottery and lost it all 12 months later) who didn’t save their money?
